We have an opportunity for a Chemist to join our Quality Services (QS) team in the Finished Product Lab working 2nd shift. The Chemist is responsible for participating in all facets of product testing bulk/finished product testing, raw material sampling, & packaging component inspections, while being GMP-compliant, & timely releases for products or components.
Mon - Fri 2nd shift 2:00pm - 10:30pm

- Adhering to all GMP and safety precautions as outlined by the Kao Cincinnati Plant Leadership via written procedures and safety standards (i.e. SDS).
- Participate in all facets of product testing (i.e. bulk product, finished product, & packaging material) while being GMP-compliant, inclusive of OT when needed, & recording these results in SAP.
- Report all out of specification (OOS) results to a QS Leader or designee & Production, & communicating to suppliers when necessary.
- Release bulk product, when appropriate, in a timely manner via SAP.
- Review production documentation & ensuring that documentation was compliant.
- Support the initiatives of key manufacturing & quality personnel, such as testing product for process improvements & ensuring planned requests are adhered.
- Ensure the good maintenance-state of the appointed laboratory instruments, that the lab is in a good housekeeping-state, & that retains are maintained.
- This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in chemistry, biology or microbiology (other majors will be considered with relevant experience in a technical area).
- 1+ years of quality experience, preferably with experience in an FDA-regulated industry (personal care, OTC drug, or contract testfacility).
- Highly-effective verbal & written communication skills & the ability to effectively multi-task, so to organize & prioritize between tasks.
- Being able to provide coverage for other laboratory areas, such as the raw materials lab is a plus, which would necessitate wet chemistry skills including analytical equipment, such as Gas Chromatography.
- Significant experience with Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with Systems, Applications & Products (SAP) in Data Processing is a plus.
A reasonable pay range is 22/hr. - 26/hr.
