To assure product stability & compatibility by means of chemical and physical analysis of new formulas and finished products. Maintain quality standards by adhering and upholding programs to safeguard product safety and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepare all new formulas for stability, compatibility, and preservative efficacy testing.
Evaluate stability and compatibility of each sample at specified temperature and times. Record all observations and test results.
Compile weekly summary status report for management and R&D chemists.
Set up all production samples as directed by R&D/Quality Manager for real time stability and compatibility studies. Evaluate at prescribed intervals and forward samples to analytical for actives testing.
Maintain files on all stability, compatibility, and preservative efficacy testing and product.
Assist chemists with batching, filling samples and shipping.
Maintain and calibrate all gauges and instruments.
Order office and lab supplies.
Promote compliance with Bright Innovation Labs policies, procedures, quality standards and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as well as safety and environmental regulations. Participate, as required, in safety and GMP training sessions, and other company training sessions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Must have strong verbal and writing skills along with strong communication skills. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Spanish a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
