Chemical Operator

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Good math and mechanical aptitude.
• Strong work ethic. Independently motivated to produce results.
• Must have strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment, including the ability to effectively communicate. Be able to share information, resolve issues, give, and receive both positive and negative feedback in a respectful and professional manner.
• Able to work in a hot and cold environment while wearing PPE.
• Excellent work safety history.

Full Job Description:

• Ability to learn how to operate basic control systems that monitor levels, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates of products.
• Familiarity with chemical hoses and connections, operation of valves, and various styles of pumps. This includes the proper clearing and isolation of this equipment.
• Monitor and make necessary adjustments to control systems or manually operated equipment.
• Ability to learn how to troubleshoot processes to ensure product quality and personal safety, while avoiding environmental problems and unnecessary equipment repairs.
• Ensure the safe and efficient performance of production and project work by following standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Take ownership for the accurate completion of all assigned tasks.
• Accountable for completing all in-process reports and documents associated with job tasks. Responsible for accuracy and completeness of all paperwork.
• Operators must review with the next shift operator the status of all in-process operations. The information must be accurately and clearly communicated to ensure the smooth operation of the plant, to produce quality products in a safe and efficient manner.
• Fork truck driver experience.
• 3-5 years of Chemical Operator experience – reactions/synthesis.
• Familiarity with cGMP and ability to learn/practice Safe Quality Food requirements.
