We are hiring for the position of Chef/Kitchen Manager. At Texas Sun Winery, we utilize a bistro kitchen for creating and preparing our delicious menu. This position requires kitchen knowledge and food preparation experience. The Chef/Kitchen Manager position is full time: afternoons, evenings, and weekends, 40-50 hours per week. Texas Sun Winery is open for business Tuesday-Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
The kitchen manager is responsible for the complete operation of the kitchen, including management of kitchen staff, food preparation and maintenance of all kitchen inventory.

• Certification received or in progress from a culinary school is preferred
Requirements
• Foodservice Manager’s Certificate
• Allergens certification
• Experience preparing food in a commercial kitchen
• Must be able to work both independently and as a team
• Able to work clear-minded in an occasionally fast-paced environment while multitasking
Responsibilities:
• Primary responsibility is to promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Texas Sun Winery: to provide each guest with a unique and exceptional experience, in an atmosphere of friendliness and relaxation, every time they visit.
• Preparation and presentation of all menu items according to a high standard of quality
• Ability to create new recipes for bistro menu and special events
• Maintaining the kitchen area according to the highest level of sanitation and safety standards, including but not limited to cleaning work areas and food storage
• Applying careful consideration to regulating cost and waste, place weekly food orders with our suppliers
• Shop locally for all smaller quantity food items
• Receive and store all food orders properly
• Excellent knife skills and ability to safely operate all slicing equipment
• Flexibility to work as needed during winery business hours, including evenings and Saturdays
• Maintain current status with Foodservice Manager and Allergens certificates
