SalaryVilla Palms Assisted Living, located at 6722 Winkler Rd Winkler Rd in Fort Myers, FL, is currently seeking a chef/cook to join our team. As an Assisted Living Facility (ALF), we are committed to providing compassionate care to our residents. Our ideal candidate should be attentive, hardworking, and possess excellent cooking skills.
Responsibilities
- *Coordinates menus and directs the training of cooks and other kitchen workers engaged in preparing and cooking foods to ensure an efficient and satisfactory food service by working with the Registered Dietitian *Prepares meals, cooks, and serves food while maintaining a high standard of quality and appearance *Manages cost containment, inventory, and ordering of food and supplies *Maintains kitchen and food safety standards according to County and State requirements *Responsible for overall kitchen and dining room sanitation and cleanliness *Hires, trains, supervises and orients dietary department employees and counsels when necessary *Works with Registered Dietitians to meet the clinical requirements for the health of our residents *Prepares meals, desserts, and snacks in accordance with the posted menu schedule; makes sure that all special diets and dietary concerns are followed *Serves meals that are palatable and presentable *Responsible for keeping work area clean, organized, and sanitized, which may include washing pots and pans, etc *Knows health code requirements for food and beverage storage and hot/cold holding temperatures and maintains documentation *Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions *Maintains a safe, clean and respectable work environment
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass an AHCA level 2 background check
- Must be reliable and dependable
- Must be able to think quickly on the spot
- Must be able to follow direction
- Must be comfortable with individuals with disabilities/mental illnesses
- Must be comfortable with commercial kitchen

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $15.00 - $20.00/hour.
