POSITION SUMMARY:

The head competitive cheer coach is responsible for building, recruiting, and maintaining a competitive cheer program consistent with all the goals of Top Gun and the policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

PASSION, FUN, OUTGOING, ENERGIZED, and DRIVEN FOR EXCELENCE!
Existing coaching, judging, gymnastics, and/or related experience.
Ability to pass all background checks associated with Top Gun and USASF.
Current or ability to attain proper certifications for levels under the guidance of Top Gun.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Appropriately manage the overall program or team.
Ability to work evenings and weekends, with both in and out of state events.
Appropriately manage the competitive cheer activities, competitions, and practices in a fun and results oriented manner.
Manage all aspects of the competitive cheer program including the handling of all equipment and logistics.
Schedule and attend all competitions and practices as approved by Top Gun.
Must travel with the team unless alternate arrangements have been approved, in advance, by the Top Gun.
With the input and approval of Top Gun, select an assistant coach, with experience and credentials to perform coaching duties.
Promote the athletic and academic success of student-athletes through support and encouragement.
Attend all scheduled coaching staff meetings unless excused by Top Gun in advance.
Work with Top Gun in creating the class structure, goals, and lesson plans to exceed the goals of athletes, guardians, and organization. Communicate with all parties necessary to create a world class experience for all.
Work with integrity, passion, and results driven.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
Supervise and conduct all practices.
Supervise all competition preparation. Including mastering scoresheet, obtaining approval of all skills to be level appropriate, proper athlete attire, and through knowledge of Top Gun do’s/and don’ts.
