The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join team in a part-time capacity! The part-time position will be based out of our Racine Campus working 20 hours/week. Thursday availability is required. As a CVT at WHS, you will make an impact by supporting animals and the people who love them. You will hone your surgical skills while working alongside veterinary professionals and a management team dedicated to supporting your growth, development, and well-being.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Surgical prep of patients and post-operative care
- Anesthetize, intubate, and extubate patients
- Monitor vitals under anesthesia and trouble-shoot anesthetic equipment as needed
- Calculate drug dosages; handle and track controlled substances
- Clean and maintain equipment, surgical quarters and animal areas as needed
- Ensure prompt and accurate paperwork procedures are followed
- Participate in organizational vaccine clinics
- Commit to a welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental approach with all clients, callers, and coworkers
- Provide excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Veterinary Technician Certification required
- Experience in a veterinary clinic and/or animal shelter preferred
- Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day

- Ability to partner with clients, staff, and volunteers from diverse backgrounds

Signing Bonus
WHS is currently offering a signing bonus of up to $1,500. Eligible hires can earn $750 after 90 days of employment and additional $750 after 6 months for a total of $1,500!
