The Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center in Waukesha, WI is hiring a full- time Veterinary Technician to join our Ophthalmology team!
A skilled Veterinary Ophthalmic Technician is a crucial component to the success of any ophthalmology practice, as they directly affect the ophthalmologist's ability to diagnose and treat ocular disease.
Shift Details = Full- time, 1st shift position. 4/ 10 hour shifts each week, no scheduled weekend shifts.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of technical experience
- Technical skill set such as restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement and general nursing care experience is needed
- Preference given to applicants with advanced skill sets which include Schirmer tear tests, tonometry, ocular ultrasounds, electroretinograms, and the use of paralytics
- Anesthesia monitoring, perform sterile scrub, assist doctors throughout a variety of surgical procedures
- Ability to lift and restrain patients up to 50lbs
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Advocate for patient care
- Self-motivated with a passion for veterinary medicine
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast- paced environment
- Availability for on- call rotation is needed
