Veterinary Technician Assistant

Blackhawk Veterinary Hospital is looking for two veterinary assistants to join our quickly growing team and aid in our continued quest towards excellence. We are structuring our training as a 12 week internship program with weekly check-ins and opportunity for long term employment! We are looking for a team player who is outgoing, enthusiastic and is willing to learn and excel. We pride ourselves in a strong team oriented culture and encourage continued learning. We are hoping to streamline our training tactics to better fit each new individual team member. This is our first time running an outlined training program this way. We will be learning along with you during this process, and are open to feedback and modifications!

Duties include:

• Fear free restraining techniques-radiology, obtaining lab samples, injections
• Technical and doctor support-exam room preparation, patient care
• Lab techniques-running in-house lab test and sample preparation
• Hospital maintenance/cleanliness-surgery room preparation and maintenance, kennel/patient care, stocking
• Client communication
• Occasional reception duties
• Heavy organizing and multi-tasking skills are a plus!
