Certified Or Non-Certified Police Officer

The Pulaski Police Department, an agency accredited by the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission, is accepting applications from both uncertified and DCJS Certified Law Enforcement Candidates.

Officers are responsible for the enforcement of laws and ordinances pursuant to the Town, State, and Federal Governments, as well as providing assistance to the public. Officers are subjected to hazardous and life-threatening situations and must be able to work as a team member and maintain a good relationship with fellow employees.

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate
• Age of at least 21
• Valid VA driver’s license with a good driving record
• Successful completion of applicant testing
• Pass an extensive background investigation
• Reside within 1 hour of the Town of Pulaski limits
• Additional qualifications may be obtained with application
• (Preferred) Military 1-year experience
• (Preferred) Leadership 1-year experience
• (Preferred) DCJS Certified Law Enforcement Officer

Schedule:

• 12-hour shift
• Officers are required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Starting salary from $42,945.00 per year, depending on qualification
