AdvisaCare, a leading home healthcare provider, is seeking a PRN Home Health Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our growing team! As a Home Health Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will be responsible for working with patients to help them recover from injuries, illnesses, and disabilities through therapeutic exercises and activities. Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide services to patients in their homes.
- Provide effective treatment plans to help patients recover from injuries, illnesses, and disabilities through therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Assess home safety and provide recommendations to improve patient's living arrangements.
- Instruct patients and their families in proper activities of daily living (ADLs) and exercises to continue treatment goals.
- Maintain accurate patient records and communicate patient progress to supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Collaborate with RNs, PTs, OTs and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care services.
- Continuously educate and train patients and their families regarding therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and equipment to maximize function.
Requirements
- Active Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license in the state of Michigan.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an OTA with 1 year of home health experience is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain treatment plans and educate patients and their families.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
