CNA class participant performs duties under the direction of the Charge Nurse. He or she will abide by and adhere to all corporate policies, rules and regulations, as well as the established policies and procedures of the nursing department. Employee must be able to communicate effectively with elderly or disabled residents, other employees and visitors ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: According to assignment, performs one or more of the following:A.
Pass ice to resident rooms, and snacks.1. Replace ice in pitchers and cups, replace pitchers as needed.2. Change water.B.
Make beds.1. Complete bed changes according to shower list.2. Complete bed changes on soiled beds.3.
Make other beds as needed.C. Straighten Closets.1. Re-fold clothing on shelves.2.
Re-hang clothing that has fell on the floor.3. Pick up soiled clothing from the closet floor and place in the appropriate container.4. Check names to assure proper placement of clothing.D.
Straighten and clean drawers in resident rooms.1. Mark items in the drawer that need marked.2. Keep items in plastic3.
Keep drawers clean.4. Retrieve items from the bathroom and place them in the drawer, or replace as needed.E. Assist in getting residents to and from dining room.F.
Help serve and set up trays in the dining room.G. Assist residents who wish to smoke.H. Assist with resident room changes.I.
Adhere to safety and Infection Control Policies and Procedures.1. Maintain good personal hygiene and adhere to uniform requirements.2. Perform routine cleaning of resident bed side unit and closet.3.
Follow infection control policies and procedures.4. Attend in-services as required.5. Retrieve resident personal items from the bathroom and replace with marked items as needed.6.
Promptly report safety hazards.J. Promote positive relations for the facility.1. Display courteous, tactful, helpful manner with residents and families.2.
