The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed health care provider. This position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization. The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Practice Manager and the Assistant Practice Manager.
Salary: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities
Role and Responsibilities
- Room patients, obtain vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care
- Process telephone messages with complete information and time and date stamped
- Follow prescription refill procedures
- Initiate and complete prior authorization as needed for medication
- Maintain patient records confidentiality
- Computer knowledge and typing skills of 40 words per minute
- Check patients in, scanning paperwork, collecting co-pays
- Checking patients out, printing prescriptions, scheduling future appointments
- Making reminder calls for procedures, and providing preparing for procedure instructions
- Making follow up calls day after procedures
- Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations
- Organizational skills
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, team, and management
- Performs routine screening tests, such as, height and weight measurements and blood pressure checks.
- Perform Intramuscular Injections
- Perform waived testing which includes: Urine Drug Screens, HCG Pregnancy Testing, and Glucose Blood Tests
- Cleans treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements?
- Medical Assistant Certification is required
- CPR Certification for Health Care Providers is required
- HIPAA Certification is required
- OSHA Certification is required
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Procedure MA and/or Scribe preferred
- Pain Management, Regenerative Medicine, or related experience preferred
