Starting Pay Range - $23.00 - $24.47 /hr
Summary:
To provide clinical and clerical support to patients, medical staff, and other providers.
Locations of this position may include NorthStar clinic, Share House locations and other locations as directed by the Medical Director and/or Director of Nursing.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including:
- Obtaining vital signs;
- Obtaining and recording patient history;
- Preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas;
- Maintaining medication and immunization records; and
- Screening and following up on test results as directed by a health care practitioner.
- Monitoring and reporting patient symptoms and side effects
- Administering intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections
- Collecting specimens for laboratory testing. i.e. blood, urine and saliva
- Check and return voice messages for medical department and triage to appropriate staff when needed.
- Coordinate care with relevant internal and external providers and informal supports.
- Assist medical staff with prescription refills and prior authorizations.
- Request relevant medical records and reports from outside providers involved in the patient’s care.
- Complete all documentation and charting as required by law or agency contract.
- Possess knowledge of client rights and ensure an atmosphere that allows for consumer privacy, dignity, and well-being in a safe secure environment.
- Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Non-essential Job Functions:
- Supports agency mission, goals, and objectives.
Education, Licensing and Experience:
- High School diploma required
- Active, Washington state, Certified Medical Assistant license
- Current CPR card
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the mental health or social services work environment.
- Ability to pass background checks for Jails and School if assigned to an offsite location
