Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Dermatology Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting dermatologists and other healthcare professionals in providing high-quality care to patients with various dermatological conditions. Your responsibilities will include performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experiences.
Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Support:
- Prepare examination rooms by ensuring cleanliness, stocking necessary supplies, and sterilizing equipment.
- Assist dermatologists during patient consultations, procedures, and surgeries.
- Record patient medical histories, including relevant information such as current medications and allergies.
- Perform basic dermatological procedures, such as wound care and suture removal.
2. Administrative Duties:
- Use electronic health records to manage patient records and documentation, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Handle phone calls, inquiries, and correspondence promptly and professionally.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering medical supplies, and maintaining equipment.
3. Patient Support and Education:
- Provide educational materials and resources to patients, including instructions for medication usage, post-procedure care, and skincare routines.
- Follow up with patients regarding treatment plans, test results, and referrals as directed by dermatologists.
- Maintain a compassionate and supportive environment for patients, addressing their questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
4. Collaborative Teamwork:
- Collaborate effectively with dermatologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive care to patients.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment, fostering open communication and teamwork.
Qualifications (preferred but not required):
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred but not required.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is desirable but is not required.
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a dermatology or related setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical billing software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize with patients and provide clear instructions.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Basic understanding of medical ethics and regulatory standards.
Full time 40 hours week/4 full days. There is no overtime available. Part time positions are also available.
