General Summary of Duties: The Ancillary Centralized Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling and registering patients for ancillary testing procedures.
Participate in the development of revenue and volumes by providing service to the doctors and patients through inbound calls received in the centralized scheduling department. Responsible for scheduling diagnostic exams and provide optimum service to the customer. Support the ancillary facilities to effectively and efficiently maximize schedules.
Provide doctors, patients and staff additional information such as prep instructions, exam information, and facility location and address information as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Drives volumes by securing patient appointments through various methods of inbound scheduling requests adhering to call times, hold times and other key productivity indicators
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum two years’ experience in a medical setting or call center environment. Preferably at least two years of direct diagnostic and ancillary scheduling.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology including diagnostic procedures and codes.
- Working knowledge of EMRs, PC environment using word, and word processing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians and managers
- Must be organized, flexible and a team player
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Strong customer service orientation
