Job Description
Preparation of clean room(s) including preparation of aseptic
processing, environmental set-up including all equipment supplies, and monitoring of
sterile rooms according to the companys standard operating procedures (SOP)
Assist in processing all allografts such as bone, soft tissues, skin, autografts and
other tissues as instructed by management and company SOP.
Assist with decontamination of all durable equipment used in the processing of tissue and the
preparation of durable equipment before sterilization.
Responsible for learning and understanding proper usage of mechanical equipment and manual
instrumentation used in the processing of tissue.
Responsible preparation and preservation of all types of bone for cutting and shaping into allografts
Acceptance of incoming donor tissue and storage
Control-rate freezing
Placement of specimens into freezers (mechanical and liquid nitrogen)
Temperature monitoring of Equipment Lyophilization Preparation and packaging of finished
goods to be shipped for terminal sterilization
Proper handling and disposal of biohazard waste
Maintaining per levels of supplies used during processing
Tissue allograft packaging and decalcification of bone as specified by SOP.
Responsible for all required data entry and completion of paperwork.
Familiarity and knowledge of information contained in the Tissue Bank manuals.
Required to perform any other task or function within the department on an as-needed or emergency basis, and as assigned by
management.
Meet deadlines and assignments on time and represent
the company in a professional and business-like manner.
Escalate issues and keep management informed.
Collaborate and work closely with Tissue
Processing Technicians and other company staff as needed or required.
