THE ORGANIZATION

A private nonprofit organization founded in 1973, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) is a large agency that is part of the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) nationwide network. Founded as a result of the federal Older Americans Act, the AAAs are mandated to “facilitate the area-wide development and implementation of a comprehensive, coordinated system for providing long-term care in home and community-based settings, in a manner responsive to the needs and preferences of older individuals and their family caregivers.” PCA carries out this mission through advocacy, stewardship of public funding, planning, development and administration of programs, and service coordination.

The mission of PCA is to improve the quality of life for older Philadelphians and those with disabilities and assist them in achieving the greatest possible levels of health, independence, and productivity.

Requirements:

Description of Role: Under the direction of the Center Director this part-time position is responsible for maintaining and reporting accurate information related to senior center and transportation services.

Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, with two years of related work experience. Interest and/or experience in aging services.


Job Responsibilities

a. Coordinate rides for groups or individuals requiring Shared Ride transportation.

b. Reconcile and provide monthly report for Shared Ride services.

c. Schedule local trips for Center Participants.

d. Maintain transportation data and enter required information in PCA electronic client by client reporting system.

e. Assist in the maintenance of consumer membership records.

f. Enter participant attendance information in PCA electronic client by client reporting system for services not captured by touch screen data entry.

g. Maintain statistical information for assigned programs.

h. Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to keep accurate records.
  • Data entry and math skills required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an office environment, including proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to communicate with professional staff both in the center and the outside network.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.

Additional Requirements:

1. Accurate and timely entry of all data.

2. Accurate completion of reconciliation tasks within established time frames.

3. Mastery of all software programs used in performing job functions.

4. Professional demeanor in all interactions with consumers, staff and service providers.

5. Timely completion of reports

6. Assures consumer confidentiality as required

7. Develops job skills as needed to adapt to change

8. Provides excellent customer service to all center customers
