Cdl School Route Driver

Spring Valley Dairy is a local dairy products distribution company in need of a Route Driver with an emphasis on customer service. A Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is required for this position. The shift times are approximately 4:00am to 12:30pm, and the work days are Monday through Friday (Saturdays and Sundays are off).

This route only delivers to schools, therefore it will follow the school calendar for the year. The route will not run on holidays or during school breaks (Thanksgiving, winter, spring, and summer). Please make sure that this schedule is suitable for you before you apply.

This is a full-time job with health and dental insurance after 60 days, as well as an opportunity for a raise after a 90-day probationary period. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Ensure that truck is loaded with specified product, each location is properly separated, and that loads are in order to allow for quickest unloading

Cheerfully greet and talk to customers

Obtain and provide information to them on delivery of product

Deliver dairy products to customers on daily routes

Rotate customer stock, credit for returns, inventory and order for next delivery

Collect money due from customers

Rotate and organize inventory stock in warehouse on a daily basis

Endeavor to sell each customer as many different products as reasonably possible

The physical requirements include, but are not limited to:

Reaching with hands and arms, frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs, climb ladders, withstand road shocks and moderate vibrations

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Other requirements:

Must have current and valid Commercial Drivers License and Medical Card

Must speak English well enough to take instructions from supervisor and communicate with fellow employees

Must understand enough math to verify quantities

Able to operate material handling equipment including hand trucks and pallet jacks

Able to prioritize tasks throughout the day

Able to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
