Primary Job Function:
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and deliver Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A instruction on the safe operation of an automatic tractor trailer combination for the purpose of licensing. Manage the CDL training enterprise (Training Manager) including the administration and coordination of all driver-related training activities. Develop and implement appropriate curriculum ensuring that training, instructors, and equipment are in accordance with the Ohio Department of Public Safety as outlined by the Ohio Administrative Code 4501-7, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and all other applicable federal regulations and guidelines
Education and Certification:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License fully endorsed (required)
- Ohio Department of Public Safety Instructor Training License (required)
- Ohio Department of Public Safety Training Manager License preferred
- Must have completed or be willing to complete an Ohio Department of Public Safety-approved 40 hour Training Manager course
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Currently have or able to obtain appropriate teaching certification from the State Board of Education
Specific Job-Related Experience:
- Must have held CDL A certification, minimum of three years
- Three years of CDL A experience (mandatory)
- Truck driving background/experience (specifically CDL A based)
- Experience and Training as an instructor (preferred)
- Held a valid, infraction-free CDL A for a minimum of last three (3) years
- Demonstrate classroom or training experience (preferred)
