Job Title: Vacuum Truck Operator I / Environmental Field Technician (PLEASE USE "AM I QUALIFIED LINK BELOW)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have a valid Class A or B CDL with airbrakes endorsement.
- At least 1 year of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL within the past 7 years.
- Clean driving record.
- Meets all DOT Physical Requirements
• A TWIC card and 40 Hr OSHA Training (HAZWOPER) are highly preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug screen, background and motor vehicle records check and Department of Transportation Physical.
- Available for travel for up to 14 days per month - REQUIRED
JOB SUMMARY: Without supervision, oversees and directs the work of small to medium size Vacuum jobs at client’s site in accordance with client and business requirements and DFS policies, practices and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instructs, directs and assists crew in performance of job duties to complete work in accordance with client requirements and DFS policies, practices and procedures. Enforces DFS employee policies and may remove employee from job when required.
- Reads work order and ensures all required equipment is available and operational prior to starting job.
- Inspects equipment and general work area prior to starting any job. Corrects deficiencies that may cause accidents, injuries, lost productivity or harm to equipment or that are inconsistent with client’s requirements.
- Communicates
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment when required.
- Completes all appropriate paperwork including service receipts, and submits to designated management.
- Trains Technicians I and II in equipment operation and service line processes.
- Operates all necessary equipment in service line of operations in accordance with operation training and safety procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.Safely managing drums and containers throughout the project
- Conducting various inspections, complete and file appropriate forms
- Preparing various reports
- Assisting Environmental Team Lead with various office and field tasks as directed
- Ensuring accuracy of Waste Records and/or Manifest Records
- Providing environmental services as needed to clients
- Participating in Emergency Planning and Response activities
PREFFERED
- Basic 40 hr OSHA/HazWoper Certification (29 CFR)
- Hold Fork Lift Certification
- Well-developed planning and organizational skills including the ability to work independently, prioritize activities, meet commitments, and proactively manage time
- Experience with handling non hazardous liquid waste
- Ability to effectively communicate and train other personnel
- Ability to solve a broad range of complex problems
- Experience with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Ability to recognize hazards, assess risk and suggest an appropriate mitigation plan
- Has leadership abilities, delivers on commitments, able to get results, works as a team player, is self-motivated and able to communicate effectively
- Utilizes interpersonal skills to working with many diverse internal partners
- Completed courses in CFRs 40 (EPA) and 49 (DOT)
- Hold Basic First Aid and CPR certifications
