ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Monitors duties and responsibilities of Aircraft Logs and Records Clerk’s.
  • Oversees the maintenance, issuance, and disposal of aircraft, engine, and associated component equipment logs and records and inventory records including aircraft and engine reports and weight and balance data as provided by written instruction.
  • Drafts aircraft/engine management and aircraft Inventory Reporting System reports.
  • Submits CDRLs, special reports, and X-ray messages in a timely manner.
  • Maintains SDLM induction/receipt schedule with required pre-induction reports.
  • Monitors aircraft configuration status, weight and balance, and inventory data for accuracy.
  • Reviews maintenance documents to ensure scheduled/unscheduled maintenance program requirements are met.
  • Coordinates with PMO, the customer, and work centers regarding aircraft history/logbook matters.
  • Provides technical assistance, guidance, and instruction as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations including participation in FOD walk down when directed.
  • Promote, implement, and monitor the Vertex Quality Management Philosophy throughout the NTWP program
  • Maintain daily liaison with the Quality Assurance Manager, Government team members, and on-site personnel to address issues relative to the Quality Assurance Program.
  • Determine the level and type of quality audits needed through daily statistical analysis of problem areas.
  • Provide a systematic and efficient method of gathering, analyzing, and maintaining information on maintenance and material defects that impact the AIMD Program production effort.
  • Evaluate existing methods, procedures, and/or systems for any potential process improvements or cost savings.
  • Establish necessary controls to ensure the quality procedures apply to the program and ensure the production of acceptable end products meets and/or exceeds customer specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Review contract requirements and Performance Work Statement (PWS) to ensure compliance with quality standards, as required.
  • Perform quality review of any proposed contract changes, modifications, and sub-contracts to ensure compliance.
  • Perform as the Technical Data Management Officer and provide oversight of the Central Technical Publications Library.
  • Monitor the trend analysis program for the NTWP Logs and Records program to identify adverse trends and take action to correct any adverse trends identified.
  • Be familiar with ISO 9000 Quality System Standards.
  • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to program quality and reliability.
  • Exhibit positive courteous behavior with customers, businesses, and co-workers.
  • Assist co-workers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.
  • Provide technical assistance to employees and production personnel. Periodically accompany QAR’s on inspections to monitor and evaluate their performance.
  • Review Logs and Records for discrepancy trends and specific problem areas.
  • Establish and maintain liaison with other maintenance and rework activities to obtain information for improving maintenance techniques, quality of workmanship, and QA procedures.
  • Monitor contract compliance by all Logs and Records activities through the audit and surveillance requirements as defined in the Quality Assurance Procedures Manual.
  • Provide site Quality Assurance Monthly Data Report to Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all established general and industrial safety rules, and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.
  • Ensure all Maintenance Instructions (MI), Checklists (CL), and Quality Procedures (QP) are complete and current prior to distribution.
  • Provide communications and coordination for the site with the Madison PMO as required.
  • Maintain the highest ethical personal and professional standards.
  • May be required to perform other reasonably related QA projects, initiatives or duties as assigned or when directed.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Completion of U.S. Armed Forces Logs and Records or other civilian schools with equivalent curriculum or five (5) years of on-the-job training and/or experience required.

Must have three (3) years of general experience in maintaining aircraft logbooks/aeronautical equipment service records and associated logs. Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Physical Demands:

This classification activity is usually accomplished in an office environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with office activities. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

Work Environment:

The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
