The role you'll contribute:
The Regional Registry Radiology Technologist performs a wide range of technical skills, which are utilized during a variety of Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology or Interventional Radiology procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients. The Technologist is proficient in all aspects of angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation and monitoring consistent with the policies, procedures and processes of the Cardiovascular Services department and Hospital Administration. Adheres to the guidelines and standards of professional practice associations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
This is a regional position that floats to all CCL and CCL/IR labs across the region depending on managements discretion to support the needs of patient volumes and staffing.
The value you'll bring to the team:
- Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
- Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
- Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.
- Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
- Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
- Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
- Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- Must be a graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology required
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology Lab required
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, with advanced level registry in Interventional Radiology/Cardiac Cath Lab required
- Must have a current license from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Division of Nuclear Safety (IEMA) required
- ACLS required
- RCIS or RCES preferred
