Nemours is seeking a casual PRN Spanish Language Interpreter.
This position is responsible for: Providing Spanish translation and interpreter services for patients seen in North Florida. Coordinating and scheduling interpreters for all Limited English Proficient Patients and their Families.
1. Provide Spanish interpretation for patients, clinical and financial counseling staff as needed.
2. Assist Scheduling Staff with Spanish translation services for in/outbound calls when needed/available.
3. Translate written material into Spanish as requested.
4. Assist in the process of early identification of patients who will need interpreter services.
5. Identify barriers to effective communication throughout the clinic for customers whose primary language is not English.
6. Send and respond to telephone Encounters to and from Clinics and Nemours staff/Providers
7. Answer inbound calls from Spanish speaking patients and respond accordingly.
8. Help families fill forms when needed by clinics, in person or over the phone, like anesthesia consults, RMcD forms, etc.
9. Translate messages to and/or from patient-provider through Nemours app.
Requirements:
Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
One to three years of experience
Medical Interpretation Certification preferred
Bilingual: English/Spanish
