Position: Cashier/Service Assistant
Reports to: Supervisor/GM
Job Summary:
Execution of exceptional Service to create the ultimate guest experience.
As Cashier/Service Assistant at PITA GR, you affect our guests’ view of our establishment every time you take their order. In order to foster regular clientele the first impression is everything. A warm greeting with an eager to service attitude is the start to a great experience.
Cashiers must be well informed about our food and be ready and able to answer all questions.
The Cashier/Service Assistant position has a considerable responsibility in delivering a positive and enjoyable experience for our guests and impression that will separate us from other establishments nearby. All cashiers/service assistants will be required to pass a menu exam after completing the training period.
Essential Job Functions:
- Report to work on time and as scheduled. Must be able to clock in and out correctly on a daily basis.
- Have the ability to add, subtract, multiply or divide quickly and correctly. Have basic computer knowledge.
- Count money in cash drawer at the beginning of shift to ensure that amount is correct and that there is adequate change. Balance cash drawer at the end of shift.
- Ability to use a cash register. Accept payment from guests, make the correct change, process credit card payments, and keep track of paid receipts.
- Have excellent communication and active listening skills, paying attention to what is being said without unnecessarily interrupting the customer.
- Have in-depth menu and price knowledge and must be able to answer all guest’s questions with accuracy and tact.
- Abide by cash handling procedures for example, by always getting a Managers approval before accepting a fifty or hundred dollar bill.
- Ability to help service expeditor bag and deliver food in a timely manner
- Ability to perform Service job functions when emergency or high-volume situations arise.
- Help provide training for newly hired Cashiers/service assitants
- Be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative. Be a team-player and assisting co-workers.
- Maintain a clean and orderly check out area. Have excellent time-management skills.
- Present a professional neat image and abide by company dress code. uniforms must be clean and wrinkle free.
- Abide by availability schedule. Be flexible in work habits and schedule, as schedule will vary.
Sanitation and Safety:
- Strive to maintain a safe and clean environment in all areas of operation especially public areas.
- Contribute to maintaining a consistent “A” grading from the health department throughout the year. Ways to do this include washing and sanitizing hands before returning to work area and continuously throughout the work shift.
Physical Demands of the Job:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time and to use hands and fingers, to handle, feel or take hold of objects, and to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands, arms and kneel or bend. The employee may be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
