The Case Manager position is designed to provide the foster-adopt family and child with quality case management and support services. These in-home services are high quality, family centered, and culturally competent. The objective is to effectively reduce maltreatment, improving caretaking and coping skills, enhancing family resilience, supporting healthy and nurturing relationships, and children’s physical, mental, emotional and educational well-being.

Safe Haven Community Services is non-profit 501© (3) organization, licensed and funded by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services since 2005, which operates as a Foster Care and adoption agency that focuses on recruiting families to foster and/or adopt children specifically with special needs.

Responsibilities and Duties:
The Case Manager services to foster children includes, but not limited to advocating on behalf of the child with foster-adopt family, social service agencies, court, police, medical, school and other mental health professionals. The Case Manager will conduct home visits at least once a month and provides on-going assessments to ensure that the foster-adopt family and their home remain viable for the child until permanency is reached. This position requires good organizational, time management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
Qualifications and Skills:
A bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university in social services or other human service field; and a minimum of (1) year of documented full-time work experience in meeting basic needs and therapeutic services of children and youth with special needs.
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, and the ability to use private car to transport children as needed, and must comply with the state policy concerning minimum car insurance coverage.
Work Schedule:
The preferred candidate must be able to work at least 35-40 hours each week between Monday-Friday by working a flexible schedule to meet obligations with home visits, medication review appointments, and child placements activities that may arise after hours and weekends as necessary. This position works 70% Field and mobile, and 30% in office.
