Case Manager or Assistant Case Manager

Reports to:

Senior Case Manager

Principal Purpose of Job:

This position involves working with Runaway and Homeless Youth who are victims of abuse/neglect, homelessness and human trafficking and/or who are high risk for victimization. This position requires the ability to serve in an on-call capacity and respond to emergencies. May include work after office hours, weekends, and holidays. Out of town and overnight travel maybe required.

Must be able to provide critical information to support other human services personnel, i.e. police, EMS, and other such personnel responding to the crisis, and demonstrate the ability to document information in a clear, concise, and professional standard.

Trainings:

Completion of initial training requirements is mandatory for employment. For continued employment, training must be completed annually to comply with licensing and accreditation standards, as well as TCCI policy. This position may require additional training to meet specific job requirements or enhance professional growth.

Duties include:

  • Extensive travel
  • Receive hotline calls; make evaluations and referrals as necessary. Conduct assessment for possible admission to appropriate programs within the TCCI.
  • Must maintain client confidentiality of information always.
  • Accurately maintain client files daily.
  • Conduct intake and exit interviews.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Represent agency at community functions, activities and events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Good verbal communication, technical writing, and organizational skills.
  • Must pass Background check, Drug, and TB screens.
  • Ability to work with people of different backgrounds, occupations, skills, incomes, cultures, mental functioning and educational levels.

Position Qualifications:

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Education:

Requires BSW or human service degree

Licensure/Certification:

Valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance

Experience:

Prefer one-year experience working with homeless and at-risk youth.
