Position: Case Manager – WIOA Youth
Position Overview: Under the general direction of the Adult Job Placement Director, the Case Manager –WIOA Youth provides direct mentoring, college, and career support for youth participants. The Case Manager –WIOA Youth facilitates post-secondary training, organizes post-secondary activities, and actively supports the college and employment development needs of youth enrolled in services.
Position Responsibilities:
Case Management and Student Support:
- Assist with the recruitment, assessment, and placement of students for the program.
- Manage a caseload of 25 to 35 students under workforce development contracts, including database and file maintenance.
- Help students develop post-secondary educational plans based on their interests, abilities, and career goals.
- Assist students with the completion of all post-secondary needs and requirements, including college admissions applications.
- Promote standardized assessment opportunities and interpret test results for students and parents as needed.
- Ensure students are aware of graduation and college admission requirements and monitor their progress in meeting them.
- Create opportunities for student enrichment, including scholarship opportunities and parent informational programs.
- Upload WTA’s Senior Transition Plans into the Naviance database system.
Post-Secondary Coordination:
- Coordinate all post-secondary efforts with WTA’s Admin Team and other relevant staff.
- Plan and promote events, workshops, and activities related to college and career readiness (e.g., College Fair, Career Fair, Job Readiness, FAFSA Workshops).
- Oversee work-based learning and assist students in finding career opportunities and post-secondary options.
- Assist with facilitation and planning (and where necessary, development) of the post-secondary curriculum currently titled "Senior Seminar" to support students with post-secondary requirements and goals.
- Facilitate a youth job readiness curriculum to support clients' employment needs.
- Prepare and submit required client or employer information to meet contract compliance requirements.
- Serve as a liaison with employers and facilitate job placements.
- Assess employment and educational needs of low-income community residents.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Demonstrated commitment to community service and previous experience working with low-income populations through prior professional and/ or volunteer experience
- Prior experience with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth services strongly preferred
- B.A. or equivalent skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Basic computer proficiency including use of online database search and record-keeping systems
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate youth job readiness curriculum preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful
