JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
ALAPAHA CIRCUIT DRUG COURT
(Atkinson, Berrien, Clinch, Cook and Lanier Counties)
POSITION: Alapaha Circuit Accountability Court CaseManager
Definition:
Under general/limited supervision; performs work of moderate difficulty providing professional assistance and comprehensive case management to participants of the drug court and mental health court; performs related work as required.
Job Duties:
- Interview, screen, and gather demographic information on offenders whose charges qualify them for an accountability court program
- Explain in detail drug court program to interested offenders or referred agencies
- Assists participants with life skills, such as time management, budgeting, and employment
- Research employment and community service opportunities for participants
- Maintain paper and electronic files on participants
- Attend treatment team meetings, court procedures, and other appointments assigned
- Urine sample collections (drug testing)
- Operate the drug analyzer to test the samples collected.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of substance abuse, addictions, mental health and casework practices
- Knowledge of community treatment providers and services
- Knowledge of treatment modalities
- Knowledge of social and psychological issues regarding drug use
- Skill in documenting behaviors and maintaining accurate records
- Skill in interpersonal communication in a collaborative format
- Working skill in exercising sound judgement and ability to make decisions independently
- Working skill in keeping within current standards and practices of Treatment Court
- Considerable skill in multi-tasking with efficiency and accuracy
Desirable Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields. Associate’s Degree in Social Sciences, Sociology or related fields with 2 or more years of related experiences. High School diploma with 4 or more years of related experiences.
Additional Requirements:
The position requires a valid driver’s license and a private vehicle for travel.
Applicants will be required to pass a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.16 - $18.60 per hour
