Job Description
Location: Allentown
- Support the Life Skill Case Manager with day-to-day functions and be a role model for youth who are learning household and daily living skills.
- Organize and prepare weekly meal plans that are reviewed and shared with the young adults.
- Supervise and assure safety of residents, and provide day coverage as needed or assigned at the
residential homes. - Provide safe transportation for youth to scheduled medical, therapy or other associated appointments and family visitations. Document all trip information per protocol.
- Address and report any crisis or critical situation as defined by agency and/or county, state or federal regulations according to the agency's formalized practice and protocols.
Minimum Qualifications of the Case Aid:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
- A minimum of one-year experience working with adolescents.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license including vehicle insurance and inspection on any vehicle used for daily work and transportation of clients.
- Must receive a passing score on annual motor vehicle clearance to be eligible to operate agency vehicles.
- Never have been convicted of any prohibited criminal or child abuse offense.
Preferred Qualifications of the Case Aid:
- An individual with the ability to identify with and adapt to the goals and philosophies of the independent living program. Candidates with lived experience.
- Possess sound judgment and knowledge of adolescent development and behavior.
- Display organizational skills and highly adept at managing multiple tasks and assignments.
- Successful team members are creative thinkers, are flexible in their approaches to people and projects, and are capable of working with diverse groups of the population.
- Proficient in computer knowledge & skills (i.e., Microsoft Windows software); familiarity with external databases and Google Suite operations s desired.
Physical Requirements for the Case Aid:
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Occasionally
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds. X Occasionally
- Ability to navigate stairs is highly preferred (as some locations are not always handicap accessible). X Constantly
