OBJECTIVE:Resident care providers will administer and record the care given to the residents of the facility.
OVERVIEW:To care for residents in facility under the supervision and direction of the Health & Wellness Director, as well as, the Resident Care Coordinator. Utilizing an understanding of the principles of the developmental stage to assess each resident's age specific needs, and provide specific services and care as agreed upon by the resident.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Report to work promptly at scheduled time and be ready to start your shift.
- All care is provided in compliance with an according to department policies and standards of care.
- Participate in assessment of resident needs and functions as a member of the healthcare team.
- Participate in staff, resident, and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base.
- Participate in department quality improvement activities.
- Assumes responsibility for using effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Supporting the facility mission through shared values and service excellence.
- Knowledge in the use of typical department equipment, including but not limited to multiline telephones, copier, pager, walkie talkie, fax machine, and resident call light system.
- Assist residents with ADL's such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Escort and/or remind residents about meals and/or activities.
- Know all documentation procedures and how to use all facility logs: service plans, maintenance, emergency contact folder, nursing communication log, etc.
- Notify the licensed nurse of all changes and/or concerns regarding residents' physical and/or cognitive changes verbally or in the nursing log.
- Place resident on alert and do vital signs if there is a change that concerns you, when there is a med change, or resident is new to service.
- Operate monthly wellness clinic and monthly vital signs & weights for residets on service and record in appropriate record.
- Participate in departmental training and meeting as scheduled.
- Maintain a professional and caring attitude toward residents, and all staff members.
- Perform any assigned housekeeping and laundry tasks. PERFORM ANY ASSIGNED
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience: C.N.A. or HCA certification required. Experience in working with older people and knowledge of aging issues such as physical and cognitive changes, concerns, grief and death.
