AIM OF THE JOB
The Lead Caregiver will work closely with the Client Care Coordinator and the Human Resources Manager to ensure clients receive the highest quality of care and customer satisfaction, and supervises all caregivers in their respective territory. The Lead Caregiver also assists with the scheduling, staffing, and training of caregivers.
DIMENSIONS
The Lead Caregiver:
- Oversees caregivers, providing day-to-day management and guidance
- Regularly review and reevaluate the care plans of clients to ensure that their evolving needs are met
- Facilitates ongoing coordination and communication between the client, caregiver team, physicians, and other staff members
- Directs caregiver schedules and ensures proper follow-up after caregivers are assigned to clients
CONTEXT AND MAIN CHALLENGES
The most difficult challenges of the position include:
- Ensuring a premier experience for everyone – client, client family members, and caregivers despite the challenging nature of varying situations
- Managing unique and complex situations, such as, last minute shift changes, employee call-offs, and first level handling of employee and client complaints
- Supporting a growing, diverse, and dynamic network of caregivers
MOST FREQUENT INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS & NETWORKS
The Lead Caregiver will work closely with the following internal contacts:
- Human Resources Manager and upper management
- Scheduling Manager and supporting team
- Internal office staff
- Current and future caregivers
The Human Resources Admin will work closely with the following external contacts:
- Caregivers, Clients, and family members
- Local hospitals as appropriate and referral partners
Each day varies in responsibilities, and you will need to flex your priorities to the needs of the business. This requires communication with both applicants and various internal departments.
You must have excellent telephone, written and verbal communication skills; professional and positive attitude, presentation, maturity, and comportment; good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.

MAIN ASSIGNMENTS
- Proactively manages the ongoing client relationship for existing clients
- Uses independent judgement to accomplish problem resolution, increasing support for clients, and quality assurance
- Anticipates client needs and advise families
- Responsible for updating the physical schedule within scheduling software and communicating the shift expectations to the assigned team
- Provides feedback to local leader regarding caregiver performance and customer feedback
- Identifies and makes recommendations regarding any safety concerns of caregivers or clients
- Determines client recovery activities for deactivations, hospitalizations, hours reductions, and canceled hours
- Coordinates care with Client Care Coordinator, family members, and other care providers
- Reviews daily care logs to ensure quality care is delivered
- Initiates care coordination process based on information gathered in the notes with the necessary parties and documents accordingly
- Initiate hiring process for Comfort Keepers including processing applications, background screening, assessments, interviewing, and reference checks; makes hiring recommendations.
- Follows all office communication and documentation protocols to ensure excellent service to clients, staff, potential clients, and inactive clients
- Performs other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Efficient client handling, as demonstrated by key indicators like client satisfaction and client turnover rate
- Successful resolution of each incoming call, as demonstrated by client, caregiver, and operations manager and surveys
