Caregiver At Adult Family Home

We are hiring a caregiver for our Adult Family Home in University Place, WA specializing in dementia and Alzheimer's care. Caregiver would be part-time covering a shift of 8am-6pm Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Possibility of conversion to full-time based on care needs and good job performance.

Caregiver will work as part of a team caring for residents (currently 6 residents, capacity for 8).

Duties

Assistance with all activities of daily living, meal preparation, general housekeeping, transfer residents from bed to chair, and other related responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1+ year experience as caregiver in an Adult Family Home, assisted living, or other long-term care experience

• Must have truly caring approach to vulnerable elderly adults with dementia and Alzheimer’s

• Must have a good work ethic: positive attitude, cooperative with owner and other caregivers, teachable, consistent

Compensation

• Starting at $18/hr, up to $22/hr for more caregiving experience

Training and Testing Requirements

• Current DOH care worker license (HCA, CNA, or NAR)

• Current First Aid card (prior to hire)

• Tuberculosis Test (TB)

• Background Check (upon hire)

• Fingerprint Check (within 7 days of hire)

• Dementia Specialty Training (within 90 days of start date)

• Complete 12 hours of qualified continuing education (annually)

• Nurse Delegation Core and Special Focus on Diabetes (preferred)
