Car Wash Customer Service Attendant

Mission

Solar Express Car Wash is the premier Car Wash facility in the Bay Area. We provide an exceptional exterior Car Wash, with an emphasis on dignity and respect. We efficiently wash cars in a safe, friendly, and professional manner. We ensure all customers are satisfied with both their wash and their washing experience.

Company Description

Solar Express Car Wash is designed to be an environmentally friendly, smooth, efficient, and economical exterior Car Wash with optional follow up self-service vacuums.

Customers enter the site and arrive at 1 of 3 automated pay stations that accept app payment, credit card, and/or cash. Customers will select one of three Car Wash options (Basic Wash, Wash & Shine, and Sunny Deluxe Ceramic), or they will select one of 3 monthly wash club options (via the app). Next, customers proceed to the entrance of the automated tunnel.

The customer enters the tunnel and drives their car onto a dual-wheel conveyor belt, smoothly riding through the automated tunnel. The tunnel includes biodegradable chemicals, high pressure water, friction, wax/ceramics protectants, wheel shine treatments, and high powered/low noise blowers. After their Car Wash experience, the customer has the option to use one of the self-service vacuums, or exit the site.

Job Description

• Properly screen and triage all vehicles that enter the site
• Greeting customers and explaining services provided by the facility (this includes our different wash packages, as well as our monthly membership options)
• Promoting our monthly membership options to customers
• Asking customer how they are going to pay and then directing the customers to the proper pay station
• Inform customers about how to properly use the vacuums
• May help manage social media and online promotions
• Answer any questions about the wash tunnel and/or wash experience
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
• Continuously develop under the guidance of management
• This job will involve occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements such as hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, dust/dirt and exhaust fumes

Qualifications/Preferences

• Car wash experience not required, but preferred
• Customer service experience required
• Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Empathy and compassion for all customers and employees
• Ability to be on time and ready to work
• Motivated self-starter with generally positive attitude
• Attention to detail a must
• Ability to maintain integrity and professionalism at all times
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Must be comfortable with working outside in occasionally hot, cold, or dirty conditions
• Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods

Onboarding Process 30 days

Within the first 30 days you will…

• Get acquainted with your fellow employees and learn the schedule
• Familiarize yourself with the services offered by the company (regular wash options, monthly membership options)
• Familiarize yourself with the types of vehicles that can and cannot be serviced at Solar Express Car Wash
• Familiarize yourself with the vacuum set up, and learn how to unclog vacuums

• Familiarize yourself with the Car Wash machinery
• Become familiar with our social media accounts and online promotions

• Familiarize yourself with the expectations of the company
• Become familiar with the Car Wash safety procedures
• Learn Car Wash safety best practices (mechanical system safety, chemical safety, employee safety, customer/vehicle safety)

60 days

Within 60 days you will…

• Become an expert at pitching the Car Wash club options to customers
• Become an expert at triaging vehicles through the Car Wash
• Become an expert at bailing a customer out of the wash site if their car is incompatible with the express wash
• Be able to answer customer questions about the wash tunnel and the wash experience
• Be able to teach others about Car Wash safety best practices
• Using social media marketing tools to create and maintain the company’s brand

90 days

Within 90 days you will…

• Be able to train others on pitching the monthly membership options, triaging vehicles, and properly bailing customers out of the wash site
• Be able to improve the customer experience while building customer loyalty
• Become an expert on various online promotions offered by the company
• Ability to retain the social media presence and post regularly/increase followers/push promotions
• Become the best advocate for the customer by being present, patient, and people-first
