Summary
The Camp Assistant Counselor's responsibilities include assisting the Camp Counselor with the planning of activities, supervision of campers, interacting with campers and maintaining a safe environment at all times.

Qualifications
Must be 16 years or older by the first day of camp and have the ability to supervise a group of campers.. A CPR certification is required prior to the first day of camp. Must be caring and understanding, be willing to have fun with kids, but also be responsible and reliable, show initiative and be a good team player.
Essential Job Functions

1. The Camp Assistant Counselor is responsible for taking over a counselor's group when needed and at this time they will take on the counselor's full responsibilities.
2. Supervise assigned campers at all times providing for their safety as well as their enjoyment. Children must never be unsupervised.
3. Carry out specific assignments requested by the camp counselor.
4. Administer first aid when absolutely necessary.
5. It is the group leader's responsibility to leave an area clean and in order.
6. Assist with programs and other camp-wide activities as scheduled, in cooperation with other staff members.
7. Participate in all staff meetings.
8. Protect and respect camp property and equipment and help conserve supplies.
9. Collect and put away camp equipment and supplies for group activities.
10. Respect the opinions of the counselors and follow their directions.
11. Show enthusiasm with campers and give assistance when needed.
12. Obey camp policies and regulations.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
