JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

This position plays a major role in a guest's café experience. Consistency is a key element in a positive experience, which is achieved by always following recipes. A bobarista must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. A bobarista should be organized and able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure.

Essential Functions

• Must be able to pass provided Food Handler’s Test.
• Engage with customers in a friendly and efficient manner. All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed guests’ expectations.
• Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times.
• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the drink and food menu; answering questions.
• Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the café.
• Work as a team with all The Korean Rose’s personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
• Prepares and sells drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for all beverages.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
• Memorize our food and beverage menus, with the ability to make suggestions.
• Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary.
• Help food preparation staff when necessary.

• Ring drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests for drinks served and make change (when necessary).

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates behind the café bar and may be working in close proximity to co-workers. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Fast-paced and high-stress environment. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping and falls.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Walk and stand during entire shift.
• Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe.
• Remain stationary for long periods of time.
• Frequently wash hands.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to manipulate fingers, hands and arms to cut, measure, pour, serve, carry and wipe.
• Be able to hear and talk.
• Good close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus between the two.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This position regularly requires frequent late nights, weekends and holiday work.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Education and Experience

Prior boba shop experience.
