This Role Offers the Following Work Appropriately Strategy: Hybrid.
This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite an average of one-to-three days each week.
The Role
We are currently seeking experienced and motivated candidates for the role of Propulsion Dynamics & NVH Analysis Engineer to support the Global Virtual Engineering (GVE) department. In this role you will be responsible for creating 1D Amesim mechanical modeling analysis to support BEV vehicles. You will work with Advanced, Program, DRE, Validation, Calibration, and Controls engineering teams in all phases of program execution. A balance of technical, project leadership skills and the ability to think creatively is paramount.
What You'll Do
- Build, debug, and run analytical models, interpreting results for customers, attending development team meetings and interact with various engineers across the organization.
- Collaborate with vehicle N&V group to deliver propulsion system load cases and Amesim plant models.
- Advance analysis capability to decrease the need for testing and align with company goals for increased virtualization.
- Develop and continuously improve standard work and update procedure documents.
- Support Drive Unit and Driveline teams in all phases of program execution from concept to production including optimizing CAE models for plant model usage
- Support capability development projects in motor controls and Drive Quality
- Support cost reduction, size reduction and efficiency improvement
- Establish and maintain relationships with many cross functional teams such as: Advanced, Program, DRE, Validation, Calibration, and Controls engineering teams
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 2 years of engineering experience
- Extensive knowledge in Structural Dynamics as it as it pertains to NVH
- Understanding of electrified vehicle system and integration
- Good level of technical problem-solving skills and experience in the production domain to address vehicle level issues.
- Good level of project management skills and the ability to influence those that are not direct reports
- Good level of interpersonal skills to work cross functionally with multiple teams to drive work forward.
- Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours to collaborate with an analysis support team overseas
- Ability to create and present information to leadership, peers, customers, and suppliers in a clear and concise manner
- Good understanding of establishing loads and boundary conditions for modeling and analysis.
- Familiarity with a variety of other CAE tools (such as HyperMesh, Optistruct, ANSA, ADAMS/[or any MBD Tools], Actran, Python and/or Matlab etc.)
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- M.S. with specialization in structural vibration and NVH
- Experience in Controls/Calibrations and Hands-On Testing [Vehicle and/or Lab]
- Proficient on numerical analyses [resolve numerical stiffness and singularity problems]
- Experience in Drive Quality development [Low frequency vibration and vehicle response]
- Thorough understanding of signal processing
- Fluency in Co-simulation using function mock up unit (FMU)
