CAD/BIM Designer

Overview

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for a highly motivated CAD/BIM Designer. Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Produce 2D and 3D CAD/BIM models for building structures and architecture, including plans, sections, details, schedules, and design packages.
• Coordinate design closely with engineering discipline leads in a project focused team environment.
• Ensure delivery of documents according to client specifications and construction standards.
• Ensure quality of work according to company standards.
• Review other's work for quality assurance.
• Assist with development of BIM execution plans.
• Limited travel may be required.
• Perform clash detection and resolution.
• Produce project imagery and visualizations for use in documents and presentations.
• Assist with review of contractor shop drawings and RFI's.

• Familiarity with construction materials and trades.

• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge and experience with computer software such as: Revit, Autocad, Inventor, Bluebeam, Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote).

 

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with one or more of the following subjects:

• Building construction and building systems:
• Architecture, Structures, Civil/Site/Utilities, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing/piping, electrical, fire protection, process and instrumentation diagrams.
• Manufacturing/industrial systems such as:
• Utilities, process, packaging, material handling, water/wastewater, fabrication, skid mounted equipment
• Design Processes:
• Drawing Interpretation & Generation: Sketch, Diagram, P&ID, Product Sheet, Plan
• BIM Modeling, BIM Coordination, Digital Twins

 

Education:

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in design technology, engineering or architecture, from an accredited institution and at least two years of relevant experience; if no degree, must have at least four years of relevant experience.

Salary Range is 65k - 73k Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
