- Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to assist in the creation and modification of engineering drawings, plans, and schematics for airport infrastructure and planning projects.
- Performs civil design with a specialized focus on airport infrastructure projects using AutoCAD/Civil3D, under the guidance of a Senior Engineer.
- Collaborates with other engineering disciplines to coordinate the design of airport projects under the guidance of a senior engineer/designer.
- Conducts field work related to airport projects, including site inspections, evaluations, and data collection.
- Assists with engineering/drafting duties on projects of various complexity.
- Assists with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.
- Assists in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
- Constructs models for project plans and specifications and meets related needs by performing routing aspects of engineering assignments.
- Assists in the preparation and presentation of Airport Design details and concepts for public meetings, workshops with local agencies, and internal staff gatherings.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on drafting, including experience in airport projects.
- 1-3 years of AutoCAD/Civil3D experience, with a strong preference for candidates with Airport Design experience.
- Familiarity with Florida state and county infrastructure improvement projects, with a specific emphasis on airport infrastructure.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience using AutoCAD and Civil3D.
- Proficiency in computer-aided drafting and design tools and automated office products.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Airport Design concepts, terminology, and principles.
- Familiarity with Airport Design standards, specifications, and criteria established or adopted by relevant authorities, such as FAA and FDOT.
- Understanding of project engineering and scheduling
- Experience in GIS, ICPR 4, EPA SWMM, MicroStation Inroads/Geopak, and OpenRoads would be advantageous in the context of airport projects.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical information.
- Problem-solving abilities in the field of engineering.
- A valid Driver's License is required with a safe driving record and must complete a pre-employment screening.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
