Job Description
Summary:
We are seeking a CAD Designer that has the ability to think creatively and independently. The primary role includes hands on (2-D and 3-D) design. Key areas of accountability include: accurate drafting task management, meeting due dates, managing budgeted hours, and drafting standards implementation.
Essential Functions:
- Uses 3D CAD & 2D Autocad to perform design tasks – Solidworks preferred.
- Perform basic operations in ERP System.
- Create 3D models and detailed drawings of components and assemblies.
- Create concept drawings, large assembly modeling, and detail drawings for machine shop fabrication of parts for automation projects.
- Confers with engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.
- Verify all required materials are correct and included in the ERP System.
- Generate part numbers manually as required to coordinate with purchasing to control inventoried materials are being used correctly.
- Prioritize and manage drafting tasks to support the budgeted hours and scheduled due dates.
- Attend design reviews and related project meeting (as required).
- Update drawings to “As –Built” drawings.
Education and Experience:
- Preferred Associate's degree (A. A.) or completion of formal drafting program.
- Preferred 3 years of CAD experience.
- Competent with SolidWorks 2020 or similar 3D CAD and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of PDM within CAD Software a plus.
- Knowledge of industry mechanical drafting and design concepts.
- Knowledge of mechanical mechanisms and machine design.
- Familiarity with welding, machining and assembly processes.
