CAD Designer
Five Star FabricatingInc. is a privately held, fast growing expert in manufacturing high-performance
composite, polycarbonate, and plastic components for a variety of applications in the automotive
industry. We are seeking an impact player and difference maker to join our team as CAD Designer who is
dependable, diligent and detail oriented.
As a CAD Designer specializing in CREO Parametric, you will play a pivotal role in the product
development process, creating 3D models and designs that meet project requirements and industry
standards. Working collaboratively with engineers, customers, and cross functional teams, you will
contribute to the development of efficient, cost effective, and manufacturable products.
Responsibilities:
- CAD Modeling: Create 3D models of products using Creo Parametric based on project
- Product Design: Work closely with engineers’ customers and other team members to develop
industry standards.
- Assembly Design: Build and manage complex assemblies of components, ensuring proper fit,
- Drafting and Detailing: Generate detailed engineering drawings and documentation for
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and
- Design Optimization: Evaluate and refine designs to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and
- Simulation and Analysis: Utilize Creo's simulation tools to perform basic analyses, such as CFD
- Prototyping Support: Assist in the development and testing of prototypes, providing design
- Version Control: Manage and maintain version control of design files to ensure accuracy and
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, software updates, and new features in Creo
- Provide support to Quote Designers, such as bid or preliminary outlines and mechanical
- Proven ability to perform assignments under minimal supervision, with assistance as required
Qualifications:
- Proficient in 3D modeling, assembly design, and drafting using Creo Parametric / Pro E. Strong
materials.
- Associate degree or similar, CAD + 3 years real-world experience.
- Solid knowledge of materials, mechanisms, and various manufacturing processes preferred.
- Must have knowledge of Engineering Drawings, and Design for Manufacturing. Fabricating
materials and processes. Machining, welding, fabricating, 3D printing.
- Mechanical aptitude.
