Five Star FabricatingInc. is a privately held, fast growing expert in manufacturing high-performance

composite, polycarbonate, and plastic components for a variety of applications in the automotive

industry. We are seeking an impact player and difference maker to join our team as CAD Designer who is

dependable, diligent and detail oriented.

As a CAD Designer specializing in CREO Parametric, you will play a pivotal role in the product

development process, creating 3D models and designs that meet project requirements and industry

standards. Working collaboratively with engineers, customers, and cross functional teams, you will

contribute to the development of efficient, cost effective, and manufacturable products.

Responsibilities:

• CAD Modeling: Create 3D models of products using Creo Parametric based on project

requirements and design specifications.

• Product Design: Work closely with engineers’ customers and other team members to develop

and refine product designs. Ensure that designs meet functional requirements and adhere to
industry standards.

• Assembly Design: Build and manage complex assemblies of components, ensuring proper fit,

function, and interconnectivity.

• Drafting and Detailing: Generate detailed engineering drawings and documentation for

manufacturing, including dimensions, tolerances, and other specifications.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and

manufacturing professionals, to integrate design inputs and optimize product performance.

• Design Optimization: Evaluate and refine designs to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and

manufacturability.

• Simulation and Analysis: Utilize Creo's simulation tools to perform basic analyses, such as CFD

and FEA, to validate and optimize designs.

• Prototyping Support: Assist in the development and testing of prototypes, providing design

support and making necessary adjustments based on feedback and testing results.

• Version Control: Manage and maintain version control of design files to ensure accuracy and

traceability throughout the design process.

• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, software updates, and new features in Creo

Parametric to enhance design capabilities.

• Provide support to Quote Designers, such as bid or preliminary outlines and mechanical

optimization.

• Proven ability to perform assignments under minimal supervision, with assistance as required

for design questions or technical problems.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in 3D modeling, assembly design, and drafting using Creo Parametric / Pro E. Strong

problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of engineering principles and
materials.

• Associate degree or similar, CAD + 3 years real-world experience.

• Solid knowledge of materials, mechanisms, and various manufacturing processes preferred.

• Must have knowledge of Engineering Drawings, and Design for Manufacturing. Fabricating

experience a plus, including building proof of concept and prototype models with a variety of
materials and processes. Machining, welding, fabricating, 3D printing.

• Mechanical aptitude.
