CAD Designer – Job Description
The primary function of this position is to support Engineering and Manufacturing by working with Engineers and Technicians in the creation and revision of CAD models for devices, fixtures, and tooling.
Responsibilities:
- Make detailed drawings used to manufacture parts or tooling.
- Create models/drawings existing tooling or parts.
- Attend regular development meetings.
- Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.
- Incorporate feedback into detailed designs for complex projects.
- Ability to analyze data and situation and come up with creative solutions.
- Make revisions to models as requested.
- Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies.
- Pursue ongoing education in the field.
- Utilize large databases of material property information to best select materials for modeling.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 year degree in related field
- Bachelors or Certifications (preferred)
- 2+ years experience utilizing CAD software. CREO preferred.
- Make decisions based on designs
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.
- Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable with sitting for long periods of time
