Buyer/Merchandiser

Mary Jane's, a fun and affordable clothing, accessories, jewelry, and gift boutique is seeking a Jr. Buyer/Visual Merchandiser. We have three locations on Hawaii Island and one location in Colorado. This position will work closely with the owner to maintain and develop product selections, as well as implementing the vision at store level. This position will be split between working remote 60% (at home) and in-stores 40%. Flexibility will be allowed, but a schedule will be agreed upon each month. A car allowance for travel to each store will be provided.

JR BUYER

• Attend two wholesale trade shows per year at the Dallas Market Center, travel expenses provided by Mary Jane’s in June and January with the owner/Sr Buyer as well as local wholesale trade shows in Kona.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in merchandising
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing
• Monitor market trends and consumer demand to make informed decisions regarding product assortment and pricing
• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, and operations to develop effective merchandising strategies
• Conduct regular analysis of sales data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize product performance
• Collect pertinent information in excel format to provide stores with all information needed to receive merchandise.

VISUAL MERCHANDISER

• Assist with building displays at all stores in a safe manner, and working with Area Mgr/Asst Store Mgrs to ensure the displays are attractive and to schematic standards.
• Create displays utilizing company tools, visual talent, and knowledge of brands to maximize customer interaction and experience.
• In partnership with Asst Store Manager, continually analyze and respond to selling trends and developing and implementing brand appropriate solutions to address unique needs
• Must ensure the proper rotation of all products. Will communicate date-stressed products to Asst Store Manager and Area Manager.
• Actively participate in all store-related meetings/e-mails, communicating all merchandising and presentation standards, training all store team members to improve skills.
• Assist with transfers of merchandise between stores if necessary.

Skills:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and excel to monitor inventory management. We can teach the QB side, but you must have basic excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and make data-driven decisions
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in inventory control
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

This is a full-time, benefited position that offers competitive compensation based on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per hour
