SUMMARY:
The Buyer will be responsible for procuring spare part requirements to maintain proper inventory levels, inventory mix, and overall efficiency of the program, while ensuring that AAR is receiving the best possible price from respective vendors and OEMs. .
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute daily Shop purchase requisitions and Planner forecasts.
- Expedite Purchase Orders as needed and communicate critical supply risks to Management and internal stakeholders.
- Maximize used serviceable material usage to reduce cost of goods.
- Identify opportunities to maximize inventory investment and increase inventory turns.
- Develop a strong relationship with vendors and ensure best possible price, quality, and delivery.
- Obtain and process RMA's for rejected deliveries.
- Resolve vendor invoice and shipping discrepancies.
- Obtain quotes on goods, services, and parts to obtain best price and cost Work Orders for Customer Service.
- Solicit bids and recommend preferred vendors for assigned product lines.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering degree (B.S.) from four-year College or university or equivalent training and experience required.
- Aviation industry and/or MRO experience preferred.
- 3-5 years' purchasing experience preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
Salary: $26 -$30/HR
