Location: Canton- Hybrid

 

LHH Recruitment Solutions is hiring a Buyer of Metal products for a client who is located in OH. As the Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring metals, castings, forgings, and Sintered Iron components essential for automotive manufacturing. Your primary goal is to secure a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials while maintaining high-quality standards.

Client offering: Salary range 80-110K based on experience, Benefits: Medical, Dental and Vision, 3 weeks PTO, 401K match 6%, FSA, HAS, Great working atmosphere, hybrid schedule

Responsibilities:

• Lead supplier negotiations for multiple plants while actively collaborating with Plants and Global Leads.

• Rationalize Supply Base for the category. Assist / Support Category Team Lead and Purchasing Director in strategic planning processes and project management

• Continually monitor supply base performance and be prepared to nominate, add or remove suppliers from the Approved Strategic Supplier Listing.

• Nominate Suppliers based on performance for Supplier Awards.

• Participate in CI and Cost Savings Workshops/Activities

• Schedule and lead regular Category Team and Category Team alignment meetings

• Monitor costs and status of negotiations, contract status, % of spend under contract, while maintaining and ensuring agreements remain active and in place.

• Develop Category Strategies that support identifying and implementing productivity initiatives and supplier rationalization opportunities for the assigned categories within the Americas working with Global Lead Buyer

• Support travel within region with regional and global colleagues

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering Preferred .

• Proven 5 years’ experience as a buyer in the automotive manufacturing industry purchasing Metals.

• Knowledge of Metals, castings, forgings, and Sintered Iron materials and manufacturing processes.

• SAP experience

• Experience with ISO TS16949/QS9000-2001 certification - preferred

Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
