Major Responsibilities: A Buyer Assistant has the responsibility to learn the functions of Buyer. This includes learning about the products and services we sell and about the products and services we purchase.
Buyer Assistant duties:
- Assist Buyers by helping them assure that requisitions are properly prepared and properly authorized.
- Help find potential sources as assigned.
- Place orders as requested by supervision and follow-up or expedite orders as required.
- Perform various clerical duties as needed including review of acknowledgement forms for discrepancies with placed orders.
- Check requisitions for completeness and clarity. Obtain necessary missing information where required.
- Shop and place orders within authority limitations as assigned.
- Follow-up or expedite orders as requested by supervision.
- Check all purchase orders issued for accuracy and completeness.
- Review acknowledgements for agreement with purchase orders and alert the appropriate buyer of any discrepancies.
- Gather data and analyze bids as requested.
- Conduct clerical duties as requested.

Pay Rate: $21.00-$24.00
