GBTs Hotel Specialist should have skills in the following areas and responsibilities will include:
Engagement Execution:
- Experience leading hotel projects with global complex customers (i.e., 30+ points of sale, $10M+ in global hotel spend, etc.)
- Effectively complete multi-workstream engagements, prioritize client requests and work objectives using appropriate project management methodologies and tools such as project plans and issue logs. Experience in applying organizational change techniques to drive balanced engagement impact and value.
- Creates results within established engagement scope, quality standards and time frame.
Problem Solving & Analysis:
- Develops hypotheses and identifies data to evaluate based on client needs. Reviews and validates analyses, develops options/alternatives and builds insightful recommendations in context of total engagement. Strong innovative mentality.
- Deep understanding of both TMC travel data, hotel pricing/inventory management, hotel rate filing, and multiple data sources (GRASP; GBT Insights; Hotel Reporting)
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting (i.e., Tableau)
- Ability to build customized models and scenarios using available datasets
Communication:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening ability and written presentation skills. Ability to deal with ambiguity and present/discuss work results in a compelling manner. Distills sophisticated subject matter into key messages for team members and clients
- Leads global hotel relationships - representing both customer & consultancy interests
Relationship Management:
- Understands client organization and dynamics. Builds strong working relationships with all key partners. Leverages American Express Global Business Travel and available industry tools and solutions to develop outstanding results and standard methodologies
- Experience successfully navigating global, matrixed client organizations (i.e., 30+ points of sale, $10M+ in global hotel spend, multiple collaborators, etc.)
Team Guidance and Support:
- Demonstrates strong work ethic with peers and juniors. Coaches team on subject matter and industry knowledge.
- Contributes to knowledge creation and dissemination related to the Hotel industry. Supports delivery of internal/external projects that develop the business
- Experience managing analysts (onshore & offshore) to build & deliver positive client outcomes
Qualifications:
- Experience & in depth understanding of the hotel industry is a requirement
- Experience with Global Hotel RFP processing is required.
- Experience representing a firm or client's interest within the marketplace (i.e., suppler/industry conferences)
- Commercial mentality; ability to lead business development efforts in addition to project delivery.
- Experience with Lanyon (Cvent) is highly preferred
- Skilled with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word).
- Knowledge of ' @work' , OBTs and other related 3rd party travel integrated tools.
- Adaptability and flexibility to take on additional ad-hoc tasks to support client requirements
- Strong skills in data interpretation and presentation execution using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Birst, Power BI or others.
- Demonstrated ability to think conceptually, using strong analytical skills
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and present/discuss work results in a compelling manner
- Ability to create models and scenarios using all available data sets
The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $60,000 to $80,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate's proven experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $46,000 to $93,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an annual Performance Based Incentive, which rewards participants based on company performance, one of our metric-driven Sales Incentive Plans (certain direct sales roles only), or one of our Client Management Incentive Award (CMIA) programs. An eligible employee can only participate in one of these plans during an eligible period.
