Position Summary
Perform functional and technical information systems support for assigned department: install and maintain application software and end user devices such as personal computers, laptops, tablets and smart phones; maintain and administer computer systems and applications; provide technical support and assistance to department end users and perform a variety of analytical duties relative to assigned area of responsibility. Candidates are expected to demonstrate meaningful experience with the technologies listed above and to be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of hardware, network and software as well as troubleshooting skills. Will participate in departmental projects and be able to work under minimal supervision and provide status reports and project updates.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information systems, computer science, or business administration; and
One (1) year of customer service experience in any of the following areas:
- selection and configuration of end user devices
- installing, maintaining and troubleshooting PC's
- analyzing and assessing technological needs or software application analysis
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
Preferred Knowledge
- Methods and techniques of application development, system design and programming
- Methods and techniques of system design, programming and software installation
- Principles and procedures of quality assurance and security related to computer information systems
- Principles and practices of computer science and information systems
- Principles and practices of software troubleshooting
- Possesses basic ITIL knowledge
- Operational characteristics of a variety of computer platforms and operating systems
- Methods and techniques used in the installation, trouble shooting and maintenance of information systems
- Pertinent Federal, State and local codes, laws and regulations
Preferred Skills & Abilities
- Recommend, design, implement and install computer software applications
- Apply a wide variety of computer programming languages
- Detect, isolate and resolve information system problems
- Analyze and assess the technological needs of City users
- Independently perform systems analysis activities
- Install, trouble shoot and upgrade City information systems
- Install, trouble shoot and maintain electronic, mechanical, computer and low voltage systems
- Use various diagnostic equipment associated with electronic repairs
- Evaluate, test, implement and support new operating systems
- Oversee quality assurance and security procedures for information system services
- Monitor, maintain and administer a variety of network operating systems
- Design, implement and maintain information systems and supporting hardware and software applications
- Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Work occasional weekends and provide after hours support, including evenings and weekends as required.
