The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for performing Business Systems analysis and support of company-wide HR business applications. The Business Systems Analyst acts as a liaison between IT teams and HR teams. This position will use standard tools, processes, templates, and models to create clear and understandable documentation for Standard Operating Procedures, problems, opportunities, current state, future state, and business specifications. This position will help the business with test scripts, scenarios, and testing procedures. This position will work with cross-functional teams to devise and implement solutions and will also be required to document and maintain system configurations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support functional areas and maintain configuration for the following: Payroll, Time Tracking, Scheduling, and Absence.
  • Gather requirements for, create, and maintain data and configuration changes required to accommodate security, organizational and business process requirements.
  • Work closely with workstream leads, business partners, and cross-functional business teams and stakeholders to understand business processes, goals, and gaps. Work with them to find effective solutions. Propose modifications and enhancements to improve functionality or address any issues that arise.
  • Facilitate and drive the design, configuration, and deployment of new projects & system enhancements.
  • Implementation: Assist in gathering business requirements, analyzing, providing conceptual and detail design to meet business needs, manage configurations in Workday, test and support the rollout of the solution
  • Implementation: Participate in the change management and go live support processes
  • Participate in Workday upgrade preparation and release activities, including feature review, impact analysis, regression testing, education, and updates to training materials.
  • Perform risk analysis, and lead key functional stakeholders through impact analysis, enhancements, change request, and product upgrades.
  • Provide incident and problem management for application related issues.
  • Proactively focus on continuous improvement with the business, reviewing both process and system functionality
  • Work with vendor technical support on routine issues. Engage external vendors to improve the application through support calls and engage internal resources to resolve the issue.
  • Research new application features, understand their viability within the organization and contribute to projects related to those applications. Utilize the research findings to suggest improvements.
  • Participate in test efforts by creating use cases, user stories, scenario designs and use case diagrams. Support test resources with functional questions and defect resolution where appropriate.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in the field of Computer Science, MIS, Business or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 3 years of experience providing Business Application systems, documentation, analysis, and support.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science, Business Information Systems (MIS), Human Resources
  • 3 years of experience providing HR Business Application systems configuration, analysis, testing, process documentation, and support.
  • Previous Workday or similar system implementation experience
  • Previous experience with Workday configurations for payroll, time tracking, absence, scheduling, HCM, reporting, EIB

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong experience with documenting and creating reports in Workday or similar applications
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of professionals.
  • Ability to successfully engage in multiple tasks simultaneously – thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and techniques
  • Ability to identify opportunities and propose solutions
  • Ability to utilize IT Best Practices and IT tools related to application support, implementation, and documentation.
  • Ability to deal with change.
  • Strong organizational skills - ability to pivot to a higher priority task, but return and deliver.
  • Strong concept of SDLC
  • ITSM experience
  • Defect Management and triage experience

Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based remotely is $71,000-$106,000. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives. This position includes a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans; life, long-term disability, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accrued paid time off, paid Holidays and 401(k) retirement benefits.
