    Your day-to-day work will include:

    A Business Specialist II provides a broad array of general support services and will perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:

    • Performs varied duties in operating a financial Management Information System (MIS) (or similar system/s) to produce and disseminate useful information. Information related to the utilization of resources
    • Identifies/reviews data input source documents for completeness and adequacy for inclusion in various financial reports.
    • Monitors data usage in several key categories and consults with activity specialists and managers to resolve reporting problems.
    • Performs functional requirements analysis and interface with functional managers to evaluate the needs and impact of proposed financial systems enhancements toward the accomplishment of activity goals and objectives.
    • Examines financial system controls and procedures related to the processing of fiscal, cost, property, and other financial data.
    • Assists in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating automated accounting system requirements. Manages system operations, resolving unusual or complex problems as they occur.
    • Provides information on unusual conditions, procedural irregularities, and major problems, and recommends corrective action.
    • Prepares draft findings and develops preliminary recommendations/options for review by senior analysts.
    • Uses established techniques to plan and conduct specialized portions of studies to determine the need for financial information; prepares preliminary findings/recommendations and forwards to management for consideration.

    Specific job responsibilities to support the KSC Office of the Chief Information Officer as a Travel Preparer:

    • Business Specialist will support the Engineering Ground Support Operation's Travel:
    • Create, examine, and verify travel authorizations and complete necessary actions for discrepancies found.
    • Gather financial data.
    • File, maintain, and prepare travel documents for storage.
    • Review and complete the financial travel process with the associated travel documents within the Electronic Travel System (ETS).
    • Contact traveler to validate trip prior to initiating authorization.
    • Contact approvers with travel authorization issues.
    • Provide regulatory and process guidance to customers for travel process, briefings/training to employees and help desk support.
    • Review and research travel itineraries.
    • Work in the Electronic Travel System (ETS) to obtain correct travel information for travel authorization.
    • Work with NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) functional contact in resolving travel voucher issues.
    • Ensure acceptable customer service is provided for the KSC end–to–end travel process.
    • Support foreign travel coordinator functions.
    • Attend scheduled meetings as prescribed by the Travel Office Lead/Supervisor.
    • Assist with Electronic Travel System (ETS) training in either a group setting or one–on–one for new personnel, approvers and reviewers.
    • Prepare written procedures required by functional personnel.
    • Coordinate changes and assist in preparation of training manuals/material.
    • Support travel financial management function, as required.
    • Support KSC end user training by coordinating changes and assisting in preparation of training manuals/material; prepare and maintain job aids and assist in actual training.

    Experience Requirements:

    • HS Diploma + 8 years or greater of related experience
    • Associate degree + 6 years or greater of related experience
    • BA/BS Degree + 0-2 years of related experience

    Work hours:

    Here at Aeyon we believe in creating an environment that fosters a healthy work/ life balance. The typical day consists of a 9-5 Monday-Friday work schedule totaling 40 hours per week, but we do realize that life happens, and things come up. Many of our positions allow some flexibility in the work schedule for unforeseen events so that our employees can maintain a 40-hour work week and still have the opportunity to meet other obligations during the workday.

    Security Clearance:

    For most positions at Aeyon, a candidate must have or be able to obtain a company sponsored security clearance. A security clearance is like a background check.
